http://spridget50.org/index.php?action=gallery&g2_itemId=972 Thanks, David. Excellent work. Was it a Jodel? I saw a few aircraft orbiting on the day. It seems that 951 cars made it there alright but I had to return via the AA due to my race-prep engine slapping the sump on a sleeping policeman and d...

Would it be hard to make one? Is it brazed, cast or welded?

Just had a thought. Is it one of those pumps with the filter on a cast arm that hangs off to one side of the front pulley/prop hub? Would that be what they are talking about?

I'm using a 3/4 threaded adaptor (aka remote filter head) so the champion 103 fits. Same as the BMC A-series. I'd read somewhere that some of the bolt-on mods for the VW use a filter that takes full pressure oil straight from the pump and BEFORE the pressure reduction valves. Is this right? Sounds a...

VW oil filters.

Can anyone explain the difference between oil filters for the VW that are described as "High Pressure"? I assume that some (all?) oilways in the VW run at a higher unregulated pressure than other oilways. If using the ACRO cast alloy adaptor to fit an oil cooler/filter, do I need a special type of f...

I've got an 1835 bored crankcase, crank, Peacock chain drive mags with all brackets, CIMA pistons, barrels and rings. I've also got some 1600 heads but they'd need boring. Open to offers.
I can send pics, but, y'know, they don't sho much.

Cheers

Do the springs HAVE to have full loops at the ends to keep them from unhooking? I've not found 'simple' springs with fully coiled ends.

Thanks, ffg. Sorry for the tardy reply. I've been sunning myself by the pool in Puerta Plata for a few days (on expenses!) TobyAnscombe@taratec.co.uk and jeremy@cogman.co.uk are the 2 mainstays of the celebrations. I'm sure they'd be most grateful for your advice or help. Fairly sure it is all 'OK' ...

http://www.mgcars.org.uk/midgetspriteclub/Spridget2008/Home.html 24th May this year is a big knees-up for the MG Midget/AH Sprite crowd over at Gaydon. Would anyone be able to help out with some aerial pics on the day? Nearly 1000 cars expected. I'd offer to help but I'm not near enough to being fin...

Tailwheel steering spring strengths

Is there any science involved in selecting spring strength? The steering gear that came with my 'project' didn't have any springs on the cables so I bought some springs from Halfords to do the job. Too strong and they'd put strain on the rudder hinges and operating arms. Too soft and....what? I've w...
