Re: CS Prop Systems - Airmaster versus Woodcomp

It might be worth looking at the Idro variable as fitted to the Pioneer 300. It is a self contained hydraulic system and can work with a variety of prop controllers. Ah, come on -- we know that's really for your make-up.

(But that's a good list -- the Israeli bandage was new to me, so thanks for that.)

Re: Compass Repair Kits

I went to blag some fluid from the maintenance place on our airfield. The ever-helpful mechanic gave me a bottle labelled "Compass Fluid", gave me a look, and said "It's Jet A1".

Re: LAA approved designs

The list of LAA-approved designs is here: http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk/pdf/Engineering/Website%20Accepted%20Aircraft%20List.pdf But don't know how many of these were "not previously approved by other airworthiness authorities"... (I'm sure this list used to be split into single- and two...

Ideally fast build. Obviously you have Vans (RV-14) and Zenair (CH635).

But is that it?

Great to read the piece in this month's LAA magazine. Good to hear experiences from outside the UK.

Congratulations, Dirk! Perhaps if you sent a photo and a little write-up to Brian he could find space in the magazine for it.

Re: Finding inspector in Bristol area?!

For the list of inspectors, you enter the county postcode, e.g. NN for Northants, OX for Oxford -- that works fine. Or use the map, linked further down the page, which centres the map on the first part of the postcode, e.g. NN13. It doesn't recognise full postcodes. (I'm tempted to say that you just...

You've checked the map of inspectors on the website?

Re: Tail art

We have a painted logo on the tail of our D9 (if you look for photos of G-AXKJ you should be able to see this). If you want to reproduce this, I could take a high-quality photo which I'm sure a vinyl sign maker could use to create a copy.

Grob 109 or Dimona H36 motorgliders get close to the spec. There are several H36s for sale in that price range on the continent. (Not Permit, of course.)

Re: undercarriage compression rubbers

When we refurbished the undercarriage of our Jodel D9 what came out looked very, very much like rubber doorstops! We replaced them with natural rubber bobbins, from here: http://www.wdsltd.co.uk/product/4068/female-cylindrical-rubber-stop-wds-714/ We were advised by a Jodel expert that 60 shore was ...
