There are car sprayers around who will do aircarft. Fees are a lot less, but you will have to get the airframe stripped down ready to spray.
You do have to drum the light-weight finish mantra into them.

Can you still get that? I thought it was now effectively a banned substance under EU H&S laws.

Yellow through orange to red increase the contrast. Think Black and White Photographic filters. However our vision is not B+W so severe colour distortion occurs. i.e if you wear orange/red lens colours you won't see red/orange/brown on your map etc However you may spot that other aircraft sooner in ...

Hi Ron, I found Varifocals best for me, both sunnies and plain glass. Go for big lenses rather than fashion. Your mileage may vary. CAA only approve the use of a neutral tint grey, No Polaried or photochromic coatings. Some GPS screens go blank with Polaried lenses anyway. Why the pilot shops sell d...

Cardiffrob, I was taught from an early age never to put grip a steering wheel with the thumbs inside! This was at the time because I was driving old type tractors. The wheels could easily catch on ruts and spin the steering wheel, breaking said thumbs! It's a habit that has stuck, and I sti...

Mike,
At least the visible light RF tax would be applied accross a broader customer group. There would be an exemption for the blind/deaf and a 'Black & White' only for the colour blind

Bending Brakes

Early next year I will be in need of an 8 foot bending brake to make some parts for my CX4. Though I could manage without, I would like to do a 'proper job'. I have looked into building my own, but the high cost of steel will make this one of those expensive tools that may not get used for years. Is...

Hi Alan, Don't know what you are measuring the year on but there was little that could be done prior to the meeting on 22nd Jan this year. Still a long time though. The first point to make is that full approval will not be given until the first UK CX4 has been test flown and found to be acceptable b...

Hi Alan, No it's not stalled. Progress is slow because we are having to put most if not all of the design through CAD and FEM assesment. There is little to show in major milestones but there are four that are at various early stages of construction. Only you can decide if or when it's worth buying a...
