Hi,
I doubt the LAA can publish a list (data protection and all that), but I have recieved old fashioned mail in an envelope forwarded by the office. Why not try that?
Regards,
Colin

Alan James and his Spitfire - Radio 2 Thu 8.35
Hi, Anyone listening to the Chris Evans show this morning (Wednesday 7 Dec) around 8.30 am will have heard a mention of Alan James building a 'full size' Spitfire in his shed. I understand from Alan that he'll be on the show around 8.35 tomorrow (Thursday 8 Dec) talking to Chris so do listen out for...

Re: Equivalent Metal Materials
Hi, You should find that TL 1.16 is a useful guide, it may be found on the engineering pages: http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk/engineering/TechnicalLeaflets/Building,%20Buying%20or%20Importing/TL%201.16%20Material%20Allowable%20Strength%20Data.pdf Substitution is a minefield for some materi...

Re: Falconar F9
Hi, Pete Smoothy at Airworld is retiring, but is still the UK provider of plans and build licences, you will need the latter, not just a copy of the plans. However, there I get confused, you said you are building an F9 but my understanding is that the F9 is not approved in the UK. On the subject of ...

Re: Medical self-declaration
Hi, I haven't paid too much attention to these changes until now, but understand my options from the chart in that to fly our group owned C172 I need to maintain my LAPL medical after 2018, but I can fly non-easa after the cut off date on a declaration only. That's fine. I had thought that I'd need ...

Re: If Carling designed an LAA aircraft?
Hi, That seems counter intuitive. I would expect glue to penetrate dry fibres more readily than wet. I recall an old woodworker's trick of wetting wood to raise the grain prior to sanding, but that is irrelevant for gluing. Stick to the manufacturer's recommedations. I have recently become a convert...

On a lighter note - commuting by Minimax
Hi,
I thought this might amuse people: http://mashable.com/2016/08/29/man-buil ... jRX6LOXiqB
Am not sure I have seen that 3-cylinder Verner engine in anything before but it looks the part on Vampira.
Regards,
Colin

Re: Lycoming O-145 parts
Hi Tony, it was the presence of one on the Luton Minor from Breighton in the LAA tent at the Rally that reminded me to ask here. There was a carb and two cylinder heads for an O-145 on the bring and buy table at the Rally (I bought the Carb, wasn't carrying enough cash for the heads but can contact ...

Lycoming O-145 parts
Hi,
Am interested in locating any spares or information about sources of spares for a Lycoming O-145.
It would be useful to make contact with anyone who operates one too.
Regards,
Colin

Hi,
Totally agree, also a modular approach to construction has many benefits, not least the space needed to build it.

Hi,
Just measured a package under my bench that came from Aircraft Spruce which is 10ft long. I have had 12ft baulks of spruce delivered by carrier from a source within the UK which was the longest I could get sent by carrier.
Regards,
Colin
