Re: Dual P-Mag Reliability
If you check the LAA mods pages you will find lots of RV s have one or two P Mags. Up to about 18 months ago they were still insisting an a prototype mod application despite this. Do not assume that the latest soft wear is in there, check, assumption is the mother of all ....... Ups! The latest vers...

Re: Illegal use of a 25 kz Radio
Do what I did, sell your old radio in the states on eBay or other forum. I got 400 dollars for mine which offset the cost of a new one.
I do agree though that this was over regulation!

Cable tester.
Hi
Does anyone have access to a control cable tester I could use. I need to test load several cables on my current project before installing them. The 3/32 cables need to test loaded up to 460 lbs.
Thanks
Steve

Re: Rand KR2
Hi Ian A long time ago Carl Butler was trying to get an increase in max weight. I think the main sticking point was the diameter of the wing attach bolts. He had modified one with larger bolts and we flew it dual to meet FD so he and Carl could do a test flight together. I think that the result of t...

My understanding of this is that training does not require a medical when you are with an instructor. However of course problems will arise whe it comes to solo flight.
If I am wrong please correct me.

Re: No Flyer Live show for 2017
I went last year but decided against this year because of the location at Telford. The NEC has much better links. Having said that the show in 2015 was good.

Re: AVGAS WARTER AVIATION
I seem to remember toucan buy something which removes the ethanol from mogas. People will not raise their heads on this for fairly obvious reasons, legal and insurance liability to name but two. It seems fairly obvious to me that the people who need to volunteer as testers are the ones who need this...

Re: IMC in LAA?
If 50 aircraft are cleared there will be 50 very happy LAA members Actually many more happy members than that as many will be group aircraft, ours for example is a group of 7 and there will be larger groups than that, not sure what the average is but you can probably at least tripple the members fo...

Re: IMC in LAA?
Not too sure about the backlog of mod applications that currently exist actually does exist these days. Engineering now has a much improved system to deal with mods and the backlog of people awaiting a response is minimal, and awaiting a response is now the key factor. Whilst there will always be a...

Re: IMC in LAA?
Well done all the people involved in gaining this you have done a fantastic job!!! I am really pleased by this achievement, the Association owes you a debt of gratitude. Now, we need the board to ensure that they look at staffing requirements to carry out the extra work that will be generated and to...

Toothbrush and tooth paste and assuming you don't have a beard soap shaving kit and a towel! :D Make sure you read the landing procedures, too many people fail to do this an make unnecessary rad...

Re: May I introduce myself - and solicit advice?
Hi Having built two RV's a 4 and a 9a, my advice would be to opt for the quick build. They are very good build quality and you will have a much better chance of finishing and flying the aircraft. They are also good value for the work done. its best to have someone to build with you as it's almost im...
