I am completely in agreement Bill. Freedom of information request about their traffic movements and a legal challenge on the basis of falsified figures
should be considered forthwith.

My first visit and it took my breath away.
A splendid day out. Met lots of people, absorbed lots of advice, lusted after lots of aircraft and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Heartfelt thanks to all on the organisational team.

Being for the detriment of Mister Kite:
stay on the ground. You may adversely affect the profitability of the great spectacle of amateur sportsmen and corporate sponsors of this nine billion pound exercise in national vanity. (Bread and circuses, anybody?)

Thank you. I'm much inclined to agree, especially as the reported cause of the problem was an overvoltage alternator. As it is not my aircraft (and I have yet to see what I am taking on,) I'm inclined to test every circuit and see what is good (and sufficiently well made,) before any radical surgery...

Thank you Steve. I'll contact the owner and ask him to send me a copy as he ought to have it.

Vans circuit diagram wanted, please.

I'm researching the RV9 in order to help somebody free one from the grip of electrical gremlins. Owner has no circuit diagram for the aircraft and I'll have to generate one from the existing birds' nest in order to create a test programme for that before we connect the new panel up. I know that they...

You don't need high revs, you need torque and the side valve delivers on that score. It is narrow and light as well. I think it is a very sound proposition.

In the light of this informed and informative debate, I am minded to alter my opinion slightly. Although I have nothing against progress, I would expect that a sizeable majority of us own less than £20,000 worth of aircraft (allowing a syndicate of four to have an £80K 'plane.) Nice if you have the ...

Linseed oil and lamp oil is much favoured by house restorers, 1:5 ratio but if it has lasted 94 years without treatment, the creepy crawlies don't like it anyway.

Very little money was spent on getting the VW engine right (Arbeit macht frei,) but I take your point. This engine has been run on ethanol in Brazil for decades but it has a starter motor with a big battery and flywheel to get it up to a sustainable and continuous cranking speed as well as an igniti...

Thanks to those of you who contacted me regarding the establishment of a local strut. I'm sorry to say that the idea has not proved popular enough to form one under the LAA rules which require ten members.
