Re: Cadmium plated bolts and aircraft fittings.
Not an LAA view, IIRC On an Aluminium structure there is an increased risk of corrosion with stainless steel fittings, more so with magnetic stainless steel(Type 410), which is not a recommended as a fastener on aluminium parts. You would also need to match the specification of the original fittings...

Re: Radio’s
I was going to make the same suggestion, but wanted to keep my post to what was asked by the OP and not confuse things. You do have to be mindful of control runs.

Re: Radio’s
Oh, and get the VSWR checked. I have seen off the shelf antennas fitted with no tuning. They were supplied for the Nav band which is lower in frequency and needed to be trimmed.

Re: Radio’s
Radius of the ground plane should be at least 1/4 wave length, and flat. So if it is in the curved inner skin of the turtle deck, you will need to widen it, about 0.6M radius or as large as practical. Simply put the radius of the ground-plane must be greater than the height of the antenna. The groun...

I didn't think 'music wire' or 'piano wire' was stainless steel, but is carbon steel?

Re: Repeal of stolen airspace LAA AGM motion by Zoom 18th Oct.
It is sad that so few make the effort to support their organisation. Proxy and Zoom attendees were far lower than I would have expected, perhaps the same ones that would have made the effort to attend a Turweston AGM.
The good news is that 7,000 plus cannot complain about any motions passed

Re: CX4 Canopy
Martin, I have sent you an email.
I think this is worth doing for two reasons.
1. It looks so much better with the 'bubble' canopy
2. increased headroom.
Cheers

Re: Auto Mute with Sigtronics Sport 200 and Yaesu FTA550
Garic, Test results in :) I was able to reproduce your issue with the system wired as yours is without the 220 Ohm resistor. Adding the resistor (225 Ohm in my case) gave an approximate equal balance in level between incormig radio traffic and intercom. That is as per the briefing sheets and Dino's ...

Re: Auto Mute with Sigtronics Sport 200 and Yaesu FTA550
The reason I ment ask, is because the SP200S has... If you like to listen to music when you fly, then the Sport 200 S Stereo is for you. Use Satellite Radio, MP3 or CD players as your audio source with stereo headsets for true stereo sound. With full or partial music muting for intercom and full mut...
