Re: Red Tape Challenge
Why don't you drop an email with your thoughts and ideas of what should be tweaked to either Tony Rapson or Mike Bernard ( I think I've spelt them right) at the GA unit. ga@caa.co.uk. I had a meeting with the CAA a couple of weeks ago and the unit is very keen on getting on with all sorts of issues....

Re: C90 problem
I would go for the easy things first. Drain all the fuel out and run only on avgas, the alcohol in mogas will hold water in the molecule and this will increase the risk of carb ice by releasing it in the carbs. If this does not solve it try examining the hot air box that ducts hot air into the carbs...

Hi Antony,
How many hours do you think that you will want to fly each year?

Re: Southend Controlled Airspace
Hi James, My personal issue is not whether or not they need CAS but on the size of the thing. If they had applied for a CTR the same size as the one that existed in the 90,s that would be more palatable. If then their traffic increases hugely over the next 5-10 years they would then have a justifica...

Re: Southend Controlled Airspace
Hi Nic, Me again! Well if I had spent a shed load of money on consultants to develop a CAS in the vicinity of my airport I wouldn't like them to tell me ' we just had our A*S thoroughly kicked!' When you have 338 replies of which 319 were objections, that is exactly what has happened. Send a copy of...

Re: Farnborough Controlled Airspace
Hi, I think that charging for CAS is the wrong way to go. I think that it may be a ' be careful what you wish for' issue. If the airport is having to pay for CAS it will make sure that its customers get the maximum benefit first. GA will come a long way down the list of priorities. The most logical ...

Farnborough Controlled Airspace
Hi All,
I've just seen the proposed CAS that Farnborough want.
I think they either have a great sense of humour or lost their minds!
A map is on the 'Flyer forum'
The consultation starts Monday.

Re: Southend Controlled Airspace
Hi Propman, If you have a look at the proposal in the ' Engagement ' part of the LAA website you'll get the whole picture, of why this should be opposed. Make 'your' views known to Southend Airport. The answer to your question about flying out into the North Sea prior to joining or leaving CAS is th...
