Re: Replacing a Single Ignition 503 with a Dual Ignition 503
To both Paul & Tom - or anyone else. Who has an inkling re Rans washout: what do Rans suggest and quite how/where these above mentioned "spacers" apply ? There's another & rather ancient Rans USA directive which is little known forthe fixed tail-plane angle, requiring minus one degree compared with ...

Re: Replacing a Single Ignition 503 with a Dual Ignition 503
a) If the single ignition 503 is working well, why not stick with it for a while ?
b) If you really don't know muchabout these things & still wish to change the engine it's far better to consult with your (LAA) Inspector, who will offer sage advice.

Re: Rans S6 washout setting
Now you have cofused me as wash out afik means lengthening the rear strut a small amount and unless you have a screw adjustable version it has to be done duing the build ? So is there another way with a spacer, if so where ? All l can do is the flap droop to chnge stall versus reflex. Rans S6-116 wi...

Re: LAA x BMAA
A definite 'NO' for the word 'Microlight' - it's total misnomer which the lay publice popularly believes are slow & even dangerous - barely better than a strip of fabric with a noisy lawn mower engine. Our range of modern a/c nowadays are every bit as fast & roomy as many 'real' planes. TBH my 1999 ...

LAA x BMAA
A pleasant & refreshing mail arrives from the LAA floating good news IMHO. The BMAA and LAA objectives and skills are now so overlapping and/or complementary in scope that a joint organisation really appears to be on the cards. Finances and staffing requirements likewise seem to allow a smooth mergi...

Re: After the Rally
Methinks you have a valid point Bill. After all these "pilots" turn up, ignore the safety rules & walk about as if they own the place - whilst we poor voluntary 'erks' work long hours and yet are strictly tasked with maintaining their very safety ! p.s. I've read on this & the flyer forum lots about...

Re: Future of the Forum
Bob, I partly agree, except the 'traffic' on other forums is largely chit chat, frequently fairly low grade and often created by a hard core of complusive contributers who bang on far too much. So for me, that's a turn off ! The LAA forum might well be benefit if quicker to check new posts, as you s...

Re: 2019 Rally
A quick thought could be that if 'they' are enticed by this, rather than put off because of greater figure they'll perhaps like the LAA scene and join us as members ?

Re: 2019 Rally
Good Day Brian, As requested I directly reposted your above on the Flyer forum. One chap wrote to my mail box this morning saying usingbhis Sky Demon plotting for the co-ordinates given in it, they didn't tarry. I have repilied asking if he's LAA & can reply here, otherwise I might have to act as a ...

Re: Rotax 912 total oil loss Mandatory for all Rans S6 serie
Worth a private bump campaign ! This Mandatory Directive was quietly listed in ~Dec, 2018 TADs but AFIK never notified to Rans Rotax 912 owners nor LAA Inspectors. If your a/c kit has an optional Hobbs meter switched via a dedicated oil pressure contact, your whole engine is at risk of total loss. I...
