Thanks for the advice. I was also wondering how the ownership was actually transferred. Will the CAA take my word for it when I try and register is? Does the old owner need to write them with my details?

A/c buying

So when you buy an aircraft (used) what actually changes hands (apart from the aircraft :) ). I mean how is the ownership actually transferred?

And what about rate of decent/flap effectiveness. I've heard Jodel flaps aren't great and that they have a shallow approach slope. I think that would make flaring over the numbers a tricky business.

And what about height limitations on these types. I hear Jodels are poor if you're over 6ft?

Complicted stuff. What about a tail-dragger conversion (not ab-initio)? I currently have an NPPL licence and would like to get a taildragger. Can that be done on a part-owned permit a/c. Or does the conversion still need to be on a sole-owned, non-renumerated basis. In fact can a LAA coach help out ...

Great advice everyone.

So does anyone know a big spirited Emaraude/Condor owner based in the midlands? :)

Hmm, I had a JAR PPL (hence 5 yrs I suppose) then switched to NPPL. I didn't get a seperate Radio Licence with that (as far as I'm aware).

Novice taildragger pilot and a/c

Hi, I'm looking into getting an a/c, probably a taildragger. But I don't have any taildragger experience thus far. The types that spring to mind are Jodels, Emeraudes and there are a couple of Rollason Condors available too. Does anyone know how they compare for the novice taildragger pilot, or comp...

Renewing your Radio Licence

Hi,
I just thought about renewing my Radio Licence (they're only good for 5 yrs). I looked on the CAA website and found a complex form that made no sense to me.

Does anyone out there know what the procedure is?

Cheers.

I even like the music. Can you tell me who that was?

Incidentally, I'm looking at buying an a/c for farmstip use. Do you think the Emeraude suitable for a first time taildragger pilot?

Speaking of Mogas, which aero engines can you run on it.

I know Mogas is actually recommended for Rotax engines, but specifically I wondered about the bottom end Continentels/Lycomings. Are they easy going engines, or require mods (trivial or otherwise) or is it Avgas only?

Cheers.

Yes, mine is narrow body. I've not heard of streaks usually having this problem though. Have you asked Dannie Crosbie about this? I'm sure you can get his details from a web search.

Hi All,
I'm looking at acquiring an a/c and the Aero Designs Pulsar looks almost too good to be true. Great looks, superb performance, and a reasonable price.

Whats the catch?

I beleive there's no UK distributor, is it OK to get parts for, etc.
