Balsa can soak up adhesive and the glue is heavier than the wood. Normally it would be used as a stiffener in a composite, for example glass fibre where it would be placed between layers of mat or cloth. In that application it works well giving great rigidity.

Absolutely right!

This is an issue that needs an immediate and wide ranging publicity campaign. Has the LAA a media liaison officer? If so, what is the officer doing about this? If not, then one must be coopted to the committee now!

How do I find documents in TADS, please?

The TADS for the Minimax references hyperlinks that don't seem to work.
An example is LAA-186-003.
Where may these be found, please?

Quite right John. Yours is the attitude I expected to find in the LAA. It is clearly a minority attitude, which is a shame because it is open and honourable. I support the aims and objectives but perhaps it is all spread too thin to work as well as it might. I'm contributing to LA and trying to gene...

I've just been over to the Flyer forum. It shows that this one is dead on its feet. This is a pity but it shows that most members are not interested in the LAA and pay their subs because they have to. I'd put in a work credit for a subs discount and for those who don't contribute, a surcharge.

Brian's points about the things that are happening from day to day are well made. In many ways this is an up to date organisation but the point has also been made that the hierarchy of the organisation are both distant and secretive. I'm inclined to agree with that as well. Most people are only here...

I doubt it, frankly. The cost of fuel is one issue, its quality anotther. It costs a lot of fuel to lift a big engine and a big engine needs to lift a lot as well in order to have any endurance. The future belongs to diesel. Jet A1 is the way to get an affordable running cost and Diesel means that y...

"I don't think so. End" Well, that makes all the difference, doesn't it. The debate is over because you don't think so. Attempting to provide a solution that protects, amongst those of others, your interests and the reaction is : "I don't think so. End." Did I blame (interesting choice of word,) you...

The bottom line is not that the reptilian lawyers get rich but that in the event of a tragedy which we all know will happen someday because bad things happen, we would all be grounded because the LAA would go bust and nobody would take over. The CAA would do what they could for us through political ...

Sensible requests. Even if it is not possible to extend the system as far as the continent, The ability to adjust height on each leg would greatly improve the utility of the system. I could see that correcting for wind as well on each leg might be tricky.

Until now, the standard of debate has been informative and constructive. It would be good to see it continue in the same vein.
With regard to the national licencing authority, Has anybody asked?
If not, then does anybody have any suggestion about who may be asked?
