The parts manual we have for our Lycoming shows a full flow spin on oil filter. That particular manual was printed in 1984. I don't think the Rotax 91X series was even in production then. We open our filters at every change. This is SOP for certified engines. Not sure why anyone would wish to do les...

Comprehensive list from US here: http://autofuelstc.com/autofuelstc/pa/ApprovedEngines.html This is what engines can run on technically of course not what is currently approved by CAA or LAA. Totally different issue. As you can see from the list most Lycomings will be fine. I read there may be probl...

No expert but my guess is LAA would be represented by Europe Air Sports at that level.

Well done to all involved in getting this done. The part of the exemption that states that all NPPL holders must perform a flight with an instructor/qualified person to one of the C.I's and have his log book signed accordingly before he/she makes the flight unaided seems a ridiculous rule. This wil...

Nice Job, thanks.

One question. As Jersey zone is inside French airspace (Brest FIR) are there any implications of DGAC not having approved NPPL(A) in French airspace?

Cubs data is a lot better than nothing which is what Garmin are willing to supply for <495 in Europe. US Database fine, just not Europe.

I'm taking a car load up and others please try to rally members and do the same. It will be shame if the twenty minute rule has to be invoked because less that 1% attend. This happened at the last AGM. Let's not let it happen again or less than 40 members votes will decide the future structure of th...

Yes the Garmin manual is rubbish. The answer is to put it in simulator mode and just play with the buttons at home. A couple of hours playing with it will get you 50% there, certainly enough to plan and fly. We have had ours for 2 years now and I've only just started to use VNAV (which is very usefu...

Yep. I've met some clever people in CAA but I guess sometimes they open a closet and find one of these dinosaurs covered in dust. This one obviously escaped.

Look under Northampton.

I just go back. A lot of aircraft present and something of the old rally spirit air side. The ensthusiasts were out in force. A good day out.

Thanks Sywell.
