The next meeting of the East Midlands LAA Strut is 7:30pm on the 6th August at The Plough, Main Str, Normanton on Soar, Loughborough, LE12 5HB.
This month we have Tim Bridge from NUNCATS who will be giving us an update on his Electric Sky Jeep. Those of you who saw his previous presentation will remember that Tim and the NUNCATS team are developing an electric powered Zenair CH750 for specific short duration humanitarian missions in developing countries where the aircraft and supporting infrastructure could cut a 3 day Landrover journey on rough tracks to half an hour in the air. Tim's passion and drive is great to see. The aircraft has now flown under the new CAA 'E' conditions and he will tell us how flight trials have progressed. Tim is looking for sponsorship and customers to take the idea further so any leads or ideas (or cash!) would be of interest to him.

As Tim Bridge is based in Norfolk (Old Buckenham) he will present to us via Zoom, but we can be in The Plough to enjoy the beer and camaraderie. Incidentally, we will be back in our old location in the room nearest the river which takes us away from the distractions of the diners in the room we have been using.
If you can't make it in person, do join us via Zoom using the normal joining details:

Future activities
I am looking at a potential visit to the RR hangar at East Mids as I've made contact with someone who works there. Spaces will be limited to 8-10 so it will be on a first come, first served basis, I hope to be able to tell you more next Tuesday. We have also talked about a fly-out to Old Warden, so perhaps we could discuss a date for that as well at the August meeting so that it happens. Other ideas for meeting topics, events or volunteers for talks/discussions are always welcome

LAA Rally
Finally, don't forget that the LAA Rally is being held at Leicester Airfield 30th August -1st Sept. The hope is that with the move to Leicester, we will return to the style of Rally that we've grown used to in recent years, see the LAA website for details on flying in, camping etc.

I hope to see you on Tuesday 6th and/or at the Rally at the end of August.
Best regards
