East Midlands LAA Strut Sept 2024 Meeting

Hi everyone, I hope that you are having a good summer and have been able to get in the air for those who fly. 

The next meeting of the East Midlands LAA Strut will be at 7:30pm for an 8:00pm talk on the 3rd Sept at The Plough, Main St, Normanton on Soar, nr Loughborough, LE12 5HB. This month, we will have a short presentation by Strut member Tim Bell who will talk about the Luciole, a design by French designer Michel Columban. Tim has acquired a pretty much unstarted Luciole MC-30 project, consisting of plans/build instructions, a baulk of spruce and the all important carbon composite pultrusions for the wing spar. The aircraft is a single seater and is powered by a Briggs & Stratton V twin. As some of you know, East Mids Strut member Richard Mole has designed and is nearing completion of the Mole Mite, a single seater designed on similar principles to the Luciole.

Tim would be interested in discussing the next steps and learn from other home builders so do come along and chip into the conversation. I'm sure any offers of materials, parts or help with machining wood would also be of interest!

I intend to be at the LAA Rally at Leicester Airport on Saturday 31st Aug, so I may bump into you there.
