East Midlands LAA Strut May 2025 Meeting

Good evening everyone, 

I hope you are enjoying the fine weather we are having and have been able to take advantage of it to do a bit of aviating.

The next meeting of the East Midlands LAA Strut will be at 7:30pm on Tuesday 6th May at The Plough, Main St, Normanton on Soar, Loughborough, LE12 5HB.

This month will be our Annual General Meeting when we'll have a brief review of the past year, elect people for the three key roles of Chair, Coordinator and Treasurer, as well as have a general discussion on where the Strut is going and what you'd like to see more/less of. Please contact me by email ([email protected]) for an agenda for the AGM, plus the minutes from last year's meeting. If you would like to join the committee to help, or would like to propose someone else, please let me know!

Realising that AGMs are not everyone's idea of entertainment, I'll also give a short presentation on the work that I did to support Paul Ford with his Fokker D.VII project. Essentially, this was assessing the impact of installing a Gypsy Queen engine in place of the original Mercedes engine. The D.VII is over at Duxford now and I believe taxiing trials are imminent. All being well, the aircraft should be flying this year (fingers crossed!).
