A small group of keen pilots are starting a strut based in the counties north if London and centred on Nuthamostead Airfield. The Grass Strippers as we are known are slightly different to a standard strut and are focused on enjoying grass roots flying. We aim to provide a flying club experience for those pilots not currently a member of a club or tired of the spam-can and beauracratic environment that many organised clubs can create.
The club will run regular social events, fly-outs, flyins, European flying tours, lecture and visits. Although our focus is mainly the flying side of aviation, it will allow builders to meet other local buildings and share advice/experience. We are recruiting both experienced pilots and students of all ages as we hope that our new or student pilots can be paired with experienced pilots on fly outs in order to build confidence and we hope that our members will offer up spare seats to other members; maintaining peoples' interest in aviation.
Ultimately we want to promote fun and give members a more fun and diverse aviation experience.
