East Midlands LAA Strut - August 2019 Meeting

The next meeting of the East Midlands LAA Strut will be on 12th August, 7:30 for 8:00pm at The Plough, Main St, Normanton on Soar, Loughborough LE12 5HB.
This months talk is by Martin Jones on the engineering aspects of the De Havilland DH88 Comet Racer restoration, with a look at the flying characteristics of the original and what can be done to make the aircraft easier to fly. The aircraft "Black Magic" was piloted by Amy Johnson and her husband Jim Mollison in the 1934 England to Australia Air Race and although they did not win (due to engine issues in India), the race was won by the sister ship Grosvenor House,
