Meeting Date: Thursday 10th January 2008 19:30

The LAA Bristol Wing is pleased to host a presentation by the Royal Institute of Navigation on GPS for General Aviation. RIN are keen to solicit pilot views on GPS and how they use it so presentations will be followed by an open forum.

Presenters for the evening are:

John Gentleman - Introduction
Mark Batin - The Uses and Abuses of GPS (Theory and working of GPS)
David Cockburn - Using GPS in VFR navigation
Open Forum - Chaired by John Gentleman

All are ex RAF aircrew and PPL holders. John was head of CAA Maps and
Charts, David Cockburn many already know from his CAA safety evenings,
Mark is also a microlight pilot.

How did it go? Sounded interesting (especially as I recently managed to get myself in a spot of bother navigating badly with GPS) but the wrong end of the paymonth for me to bounce up to Bristol unfortunately.
