Firewall

The firewall for our SD1 will be Carbolane 1/8inch thick covered by 0.5mm stainless steel. The carbolane is crushable so how do you handle points like where the engine mount attaches to the firewall. Do you trim the carbolane and stainless arround the engine mount, do you bolt through the stainless and carbolane and hope the carbolane doesn't crush too much or do you bolt through but position non-crushable spacers where the engine mount attaches?
