wooden prop balance?
What is the maximum difference of blade weights in grams should be allowable on a manufactured wood prop before it needs to be worked on. I know it should be exact but it is not and it is not damaged in any way. what are the parameters that a commercial prop is made to ??? Paint the tips is very fine weight difference but what if more is needed ?

It would sound like you have got water into the heavy blade!!! what make is it, is it ground adjustable? how accurate are your scales? I usually balance my props by making a top hat insert to fit the center hole and place a strong cord through it to suspend it. usually just a spray of paint to balance it. if it has become unbalanced then something has changed!!Have you put tape on it or repaired it? sorry just rambling thoughts!

Re: wooden prop balance?
If in doubt on balance of Prop then call Rupert at Hercules Props and arrange for check and overhaul of Prop.
I can recommend as I have sent two Props in his direction, an EVRA and Flottorp. Both came back beautifully finished with Certificate of Conformance if required for LAA Paperwork.
The Flottorp was probably ex-WW2 (1943) and is now attached to an A65 and is a perfect match.
The EVRA is on a Jodel with C90.
