Advanced Design of Light Aircraft Confrence

Post by Ian Melville » Sun Aug 14, 2016 12:23 pm

I have attended all the conferences so far, but the new flyer emails I have received indicate that this conference has changed its scope. I quote the overview below, but this has moved away from its original goals. It now seems to be targeted at commercial products than the enthusiastic amateur in his shed. In addition to that, to take advantage of the BGA/BMAA/LAA IMechE rate, we need to contact the Conference and Events Team. Get the feeling that it is no longer going to further my aspiration as an aircraft designer.
OVERVIEW

The General Aviation Group will be holding their 2016 Conference on 14th November 2016 and will follow the theme of the previous Light Aircraft Design Conferences.

Since the announcement of E Conditions in November 2015 a number of projects have already successfully applied them in realising new flying proof of concepts. (For further information of this please see the CAA publication, CAP 1220). The objective of the Royal Aeronautical Society General Aviation Specialist Group is to provide detailed design information that can be specifically applied to the design of GA aircraft. This will form the focus of the first half of the 2016 conference.

In the second half where E Conditions have been successfully used will be showcased as well as new upcoming developments that may in the not too distant future be used in the next generation of light aircraft design will be highlighted.
