Jodel control stick layout

Hi, I like Jodels in theory but have never flown one. The two-seaters I have seen use an odd control stick geometry pivoted along the centerline with a U-shaped stick providing the left and right grips. In other words, the pilot's grip goes up as it goes right and down as it goes left and the copilot's does the opposite. Any Jodel pilots want to comment on whether that took some getting used to and any pros and cons to that arrangement? Cheers, Matthew

Never had an issue with it. Never notice it when flying.

I expected it to feel odd, but the reality is you don't notice it.

Thanks, Ian and Alan, for your comments. Does the stick pivot at the bottom for pitch or does it slide fore and aft without changing angle? If either of you could post a few photos or a video clip of the control stick and linkage, that would be a big help. Cheers, Matthew

You are welcome Matthew. It pivots for pitch. It no one else beats me to it I will post a pic when I get over to the airfield.

Hi Matthew,

have sent you an email with a drawing.

I think you might need a picture from Alan in order to get a clear understanding of it.

regards,

Colin
