Between 1979 and 1981 the PFA Rally was held at Leicester and the airfield is home to numerous LAA permit aircraft.
We would therefore like to welcome all homebuilts back to Leicester on May 30th and particularly those types that would have been present during those events.
We have three runways so it is user friendly to all types of aircraft and a half price landing fee for homebuilts on the day.

The aim is to create a Fly-In dedicated to the home builts of that era though the aircraft of today are more than welcome.

So we would like to particularly invite Issacs Furys, Taylor Monoplanes and Midget Mustangs to gather again at Leicester.

Stuart,
what is the latest on the fly-in??!! hope its going to be a good one. Im intending coming back from holiday early to attend, so hope Im going to see lots of the early homebuilts.
Have you sent invitations to each of the owners individually, thats the only way to ensure they know about it, lots of people dont read this or event listings in the magazines. Why not invite all the Luton's Freds VPs etc as well.
So where is the aircraft parking going to be, if its going to be a good fly-in, the small piece of grass they usually use at Leicester opposite the taxiway from the clubhouse wont be big enought, thats ok for small fly-ins, but not much more. Or is the next field going to be used, or the center triangle, leaving 10/28 grass/hard and 04/22 hard/grass but closing 15/33 grass and using 15/33 hard as a taxiway only.

Looking forward to a good event!
