Is anybody planning to fly down to St Yan 17/18th July. What is your favourite or suggested best route and stopping off points?

Its actually 14-18 July. Probably like the RSA fly-ins of old the main days will be the Friday and Saturday, with departures on Sunday. There is an airshow on Sunday.
There is an "international event" on the friday evening, with free food for foreign visitors.

website here: http://www.legendair-rsa.com/index.php? ... =8&lang=en

Im intending going, havent thought about a route yet, probably to Abbeville and then fairly direct, if I can get thru the class D airspace without a transponer!
Ive checked that the rumoured PLB/ELT requirement is only for "C of A" aircraft, not required for homebuilts.

hope the weather is going to be good and look forward to the usual large numbers of interesting homebuilts that you get to see at the RSA event and hopefully some vintage too.

Hello all

New member to LAA

I'm off to the Euro Flyin by car, going on Tuesday 13th July for slow drive down there.

If any one flying there and possibly needs help with fuel, then please let me know as ferry fare was not expensive.

Kind regards

Tony

Hi Tony, we'll be flying down and camping, Van's RV9, a Jabiru J430 and three Jodels so come and say hello. Weather looks like it might be a bit sporting first part of the week (we're leaving this Saturday and going to the Eco marathon at Vichy first) but hopefully that won't dampen too many people's plans.
Permit factory built problem looks to have been solved by an official letter from DGAC allowing access from 10th to 20th of July for those going to St Yan. No doubt Peter Harvey will be puting it up on the website imminently.

Haven't seen anything yet Brian. Hoping to fly down next week, but not looking good without the St Yan dispensation confirmed. :?:
