Priory Farm 19 June 2011: Fathers Day fly in

Post by Bill Scott » Tue May 10, 2011 8:09 pm

The Breckland Strut Annual Fathers’ Day Fly-In and BBQ will be held on Sunday 19 June 2011, from 10:00 local.

Refer to the “Maps & Facilities” tab at www.brecklandstrut.co.uk for aerial photographs and downloadable airfield information.
Note particularly however:
1. The 500 ft circuit is INOPERATIVE on 19 June. All circuits 1,000 ft; all to the West, avoiding gliding site at Tibenham. Priory Farm Radio (118.325) will be manned for the fly-in.
2. There is a new, second TV mast at Tacolneston, which is higher than the original.
3. No PPR or slots necessary. However 12:00 to 13:00 is the busiest time for arrivals. No taxiway; in the event of landings on Runway 01, allow for back-tracking aircraft to clear. Runway 01 final is over trees and immediately to left of the farmhouse; do not overfly spectators’ compound. When landing on 19, taxy forward as rapidly as is safe, in order to clear the runway for following aircraft.
4. Airfield weather link on this website. If inoperative see www.norfolkglidingclub.com/LocalWeather.aspx
5. Other queries on the day: Bob Sage 07799 695 144
6. 100LL fuel available; cash or cheque only. Recommend refuel on arrival.
7. Obtain departure briefing from booking-in tent upon leaving. For 19 departures, groups of three or four aircraft may be marshalled together for backtracking at busy times. Please leave quietly; no aerobatics, beat-ups or demonstrations.
