World tour of Yorkshire

Post by Alan Kilbride » Fri Jun 26, 2020 10:16 pm

Hi Pilots,
Now that some restrictions will be lifted from 4th July the Vale of York Strut are conducting their inaugural World Tour of Yorkshire.
Andy Stocks is negotiating with Airfields and will publish a list of those who require PPR and those who don't. The list will be of those strips/ Airfields who will welcome us over the weekend.
Overnight camping has been arranged at Eddsfield in East Yorkshire, which is a beautiful strip and Edd will be providing a BBQ at a cost of £10. Lunch will be available at Breighton for anyone who plans their route to arrive between 11 and 14:00. There is no set route, just fly the strips/ Airfields in your own order and meet up at Eddsfield from 18:00 for a convivial BBQ, but bring your own drink and accommodation.
No need to be a Yorkshire person, just join us. Please let Andy know via VALE OF YORK STRUT fa cebook page, or indeed on this forum.
Really looking forward to everyone joining us.

Waiting for a decision by the organiser. Looks likely to be postponed.

Full details of the World Tour of Yorkshire planned for Yorkshire Day weekend 1st and 2nd August can be found at:
https://valeofyorkstrutlaa.wordpress.co ... gust-2020/

This is the inaugural World Tour of Yorkshire.

Overnight camping on Saturday has been arranged at Eddsfield in East Yorkshire, which is a beautiful strip and Edd will be providing a BBQ at a cost of £10.

Lunch will be available at Breighton or Rufforth East for anyone who plans their route to arrive between 11 and 14:00.

There is no set route, just fly the strips/ Airfields in your own order and meet up at Eddsfield from 18:00 for a convivial BBQ, but bring your own drink and accommodation.

For the Sunday we have the opportunity to fly into Elvington and visit the Yorkshire Air Museum - the Elvington landing fee is £25 and includes museum entry for the pilot (passengers will need to pay £12 museum entry). We do need to know who would like to make this visit to support the excellent museum as the airfield also has a car track day and so we need to pre-advise numbers. Full details on the webpage linked above - we will prioritise those who attend the Saturday evening BBQ.

No need to be a Yorkshire person, just join us.

Please let us know if you will attend the BBQ and Elvington via the contact email on the event page on the VALE OF YORK STRUT facebook page, or the webpage linked above - we do need to preplan and manage numbers so do need to know you intend participating.

Really looking forward to everyone joining us.
