trailer advice

Post by Dave Roberts » Fri Feb 11, 2011 3:04 pm

I'm modifying a caravan chassis to make a trailer and would like to know what other people have used for the runners/rails (or whatever they are called) to support the aircraft.
Thanks

If you intend to transport a reasonably heavy aircraft, the trailer wheels need to be positioned below the C of G point of the A/C in order tp prevent overloading the ball hitch of the towing vehicle. Before mine was nicked, I had a straightforward flat bed and fitted lashing down rings on the flooring and used ratchet straps to hold everything down.
