Upgrade of an instrument

I'm thinking of replacing the 2.25" slip ball with a 2.25" turn coordinator (the new instrument includes a slip ball and a solid state gyro) on my kit built permit aircraft.

What are the paperwork requirements for this?

I suspect nothing...or perhaps a sign-off by an inspector.
