Rans Aerobatic Permit

Post by Andy S » Mon Apr 06, 2009 11:52 pm

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me why the Rans S10 has aerobatic clearance but the S9 has not? Is it purely because there are so few S9s in the country that no-one has tried to get the permit sorted out? Or could there be a problem with the design? I'm doubtfull of the latter, seeing as there are plenty of S9s flying aeros all over the world. Finally, what's involved in getting aerobatic clearance?

Andy

There were a number of posts on this subject some time ago. Basically with only a couple of S9's on the register in the UK the LAA were not interested - high workload - more important priorities etc. It's always worth giving them a call to check what the current situation is.

An S10 is always an option, the aero mods required are minor with the inverted fuel system being the most expensive.

Best of luck, Mike
