Does anyone know how a chronometric rev counter works? Tried google with no luck. I have one in my Auster and I just wondered how they work. Not bust but an interesting readout

Try Googling on "Carl Cederstrand on the Chronometric mechanism".
I found this via Googling on Chronometric Tachometer, rather than rev-counter.
I've a few Jaeger tachos - they're a very clever instrument, not least because they have a flip-flop input gear system which allows the tacho to give a correct indication, whichever way the input rotates.
Give me good old steam driven instruments any day !!
