Upgrade Gremlins http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co. ... php?t=1286

I'm sure anything non-trivial will get reposted when people realise.

:D Yes it was. That was one of the missing posts. Basically, can I have welding done by a non-approved but highly qualified welder?

My Reply went missing as well

We had a meeting with the LAA regarding the CX4, at which mention was made by myself of parts constructed outside the UK (welded rudder pedal assembly in this case). I asked if they were accepatable?
Malcolm McBride was dragged into the conversation at this point.
The response was a bit of a supprise to me as it gave the impression that they had not realised that forign kits may have parts assembled by a non-CAA approved welder. Malcolm stated, that though a CAA Welder is the official line, ultimatly, if you inspector is happy with it then all is OK.

I do think they were going to think about this some more, so it may be best to call Engineering.
