I've just completed an Aerovee Sonex and Sonex recommend (I think now mandate) the use of Valvoline VR1 20W/50 Mineral oil for their Vdub conversions, I beleive because it has the zinc additive mentioned earlier. My engine only has 37 hours on it so it's a little early to tell if it's 'good stuff'. It's readily available in the UK, albeit pricey but the price comes down if you buy in quantity. I think I paid about £25.00 for 5L.
