C90 temps

What sort of temps are you getting, assuming you're cruising at a steady 2350 (say) ?
From my what my own C90 ran at, I'd be expecting an oil temp of 70 to 80C.
One thing's for sure, I don't see any harm in cruising at higher rpm's, as everything gets nicely warm. Creeping around at low rpm's is not good... ! Having said that, I can think of a C90 in a Jodel that refused to go much above 60C oil temp, whatever the OAT was.

Dave,

I'm not sure of the oil temperture, the cylinder hear reaches around 110C, before it used to get to 140C? Very confusing!

Yes, confusing.
Maybe the sender/thermocouple is playing silly B's if it's been disturbed.
My C90 had no CHT, or even oil pressure gauge, just an oil light. Very low tech, so I can't relate to your figures.
But 1400 hours later it was still going strong ! :D
It wouldn't be the first time a sender had caused much head-scratching, and even expense. I have a particular dislike of oil pressure gauges which rely on a sender. Far better to have "live" oil pressure on the panel....What you see is what it is, not what some gismo thinks it is.
I know what Fred would say !

Hi Colin

In my C90 in a Jodel D117, the oil temp has never been above 60 deg C in a climb in summer! It normally only just registers just above 40 after some time in flight. I thought I had a faulty temp sender as it's probably very old.
I've just had the engine top end overhauled and the mags so I'll see if there's any difference.
