Hi Birdyboy, Temperfoam really is the best thing since sliced bread. Don't be put off by the price, it is more expensive than bog standard foam, but it does give great support because it moulds to your shape (and springs back to normal afterwards). I've flown four hour legs with no discomfort, something you can't say for most foam cushions. It is also reputed to have excellent shock absorbtion properties in the event of an accident, haven't checked that out yet though!

AFE at Kidlington also supply slabs.
You could try the 'memory foam' mattress suppliers, but most of their grades are a bit too soft for seat pads.
It can also be easily carved to shape with a bread knife.

Thanks for the replies, maybe the 2" mid density for the bot and 1" for the back might do it?
Darn'ed expensive though and I'd need to get some covers made (maybe sweet talk the mrs). Anybody tried the air bubble seats as used for motorcycle seats airhawk (Ewan Macgregor's style) ?

one inch temperfoam is very comfortable on a suitably curved base and not particularly expensive
