Strobe comming through on the radio

Post by Graeme Bird » Sun May 04, 2008 4:58 pm

I fitted a Skyfash2000 strobe to my C42 - should have been there but was missing, trouble is it kills the radio - comes straight through. I wondered if a capacitor on the radio or ferrite on the strobe might help . Has anyone else had this problem and solved it. Also wonder if the return would be better straight to chassis - I think its wired.

yes fit ferrites on power wire to strobe just inside strobe box, can fit just outside but not as good, test on ground etc.

Ferrites

As recommended I finally got round to adding a Maplin plastic covered clip over ferrite on the wire just by the strobe and now its quiet as a mouse.
