Just as a point of information, there is a web article on nuts and bolts called "Keeping It All Together":

See: http://home.jtan.com/~joe/KIAT/kiat_2.htm

By the way, is 12.9DIN the strongest grade of High-Tensile bolts, or can one (readily) get items of an even higher spec?

Try calling Arthur Mason on 01296655077. He aquired a large stock of 'British' aircraft hardware some years ago and has been selling them off to fellow Pietenpol owners (and others).
