I am thinking of purchasing a dynamic propeller balancer. There are a number on the market and they are all quite pricey. there is a chap nearchester that produces on that uses an android device as the user interface. here are details of the web site:
www.smartavionics.com
There are three different balancers, the PB-1 , PB-2 and PB-3. Has anyone on the forum used this prop balancer? Ideally, i would like a demo. Any tips or advice?
much appreciated

Smart Avionics is based in the UK. I have one of their prop control units (CSC 1) which I am very happy with. If you want a demo why not arrange to meet up with the owner who is a very nice chap.

forum member Richard Mole owns a system and should be able to comment, I am sure he wrote an article in a recent LAA magazine.

Actually I don't think that I could offer any worthwhile advice on the suitability of one dynamic balancing system compared with another. After all, I have only quite limited experience with the unit that I own (Dynavibe) and that was chosen on the slender evidence given by Mark Langford on his website (Corvair engine development on his KR based machine in the US). I have no regrets whatever, but I bought it at least a couple of years ago and I don't know how the competing systems have developed in the interim.
Having said that, I am totally convinced about the advantages of having a propeller dynamically balanced. Good luck with your purchase and do let us know, via the BB perhaps, whether you get good value for money. Of course, the options are broader than choosing between systems for outright purchase and include paying the going rate for this to be done commercially.

Rod1,
we had planned to get together but unfortunatelly the maker of the PBs series has sold his europa so it is unlikely to happen anytime soon. I was wondering if there was someone local that could do a demo.
Where are you based?
