Anyone know what's the nearest recommended distance an engine accessory can be to the rear of the prop disc? ie, How much allowance should be made so the prop does not strike the accessory?

No idea, but I would guess a little more info may help!

Pusher or tractor configuration?
Construction of prop (aluminium, wood, composite)?
Fixed pitch or variable pitch? If latter Ground or in flight adjustable?
Type of aircraft?
Are cowlings involved at all?

Thanks for your reply.Details as follows:-Tractor, fixed, wood, jodel ,cowlings not an issue.engine C65.I have seen figures of 1/8 inch at tip run out being the limit so I would have thought 1/4 inch ok at 8 inch radius from centre of prop hub.
