Tape for joints

Post by skua » Mon Apr 08, 2013 1:51 pm

Can anyone recommend a tape to seal the gaps between joints on a alu/composite airframe? ie totally non structural, just to improve the airflow. I previously used a tape designed for gliders, but it is useless - rough, and porous.

Hi I know it's a long time since your post. I am a new member. I fly a Grob 109b and gliders, tugs ect. The gap tape I allways use is 50mm TESSA FABRIC TAPE available in various colours on E-Bay. Durable long lasting and looks good. Most glider owners just use ordinary plastic insulation tape as they have to renew the tape for every flight if they keep the glider de-rigged.
