VW Inverted Fuel and Oil System

Post by John Austin » Thu Jun 13, 2013 8:11 am

Hello

Does anybody have any experience of modifying a VW aero engine to run inverted? I'm looking into fitting inverted fuel and oil to my Tipsy Nipper. I'm planning to fit a Rotec carburettor and flop tube to sort out the fuel but I don't know much about modifiying the oil system. Any advice would be very welcome.

Thanks

John

With a wet sump engine going inverted is a problem.Barry Smith of Acro engines is the expert but i am sure he has retired.

Barry Smith has indeed retired but still appears to answer the odd email about things aircraft related. I found his email address in the contact info on the acro website.
