I have a 1960 Piel Emeraude and am having trouble identifying the wheel brake cylinders, the number on the cylinder is "ECCRDCR431" and the brake shoes have " IDEAL H" on them, i would like to know where i could buy a pair of cylinders and 4 shoes, Please can you help? Many Thanks, Kevin.

Kevin, my French homebuilt Emeraude has Renault 4 wheel cylinders so it's worth checking them for a match. I have to slightly chamfer them to correctly locate on the backplate. The ones fitted when I first had to change one, were mark 1 Renualt 4. I have since used the later ones hence the chamfering, they are a slightly different shape. Find a good motor factors or a very long established Renault dealer to match them.
