Maintenance on an EASA Aircraft

I am thinking (just thinking) of purchasing an EASA aircraft CS28 or Technam 2002 and would like to know what maintenance I am able to do. I currently have a Europa and therefore happily and prefer to do my own maintenance.
Any advise or link to information would be most welcome.
Regards John

Hi John, why not give the UK agents a ring to find out chapter and verse. PS28 agent is Kairos Aviation down at Compton Abbas - Tel: 01202 805179. Tecnam UK are at Goucestershire Airport 01452 857419.
As far as I am aware the maintenenace regime is very similar to an EASA CoA so if you want to carry out your own maintenance you will need a co-operative engineer who is prepared to let you do it.

As Pilot/Owner on an EASA aircraft you can do a good deal of the routine maintenance yourself but there are limits. In practical terms you can do the 50Hr/6monthly check but you need the support of an approved organisation for the annual or for any sort of defect rectification.
