Spruce supply recommendations

Post by 4535jacks » Tue Apr 22, 2014 8:08 pm

I am looking to purchase a small amount of spruce - enough to build a rudder and fin for a chilton monoplane project. I have approached a few suppliers for quotes but I am looking for recommendations of where is a good source of quality spruce.

Thanks in advance,

Gary

How much is needed i.e the size of the piece you want to cut up? I have a piece of spruce redundant from my Jodel rebuild and cut cut it to sizes for you.

I will have a look and check size and condition of the spruce, I was wondering how you could build a wooden plane without the equipment. Most of these bits are very small My baulk i about 8' X 4* X 4* and I was a bit hesitant about cutting a one piece for such little pieces but I may have other bits suitable.
