Importation - forwarding agents

Post by gasax » Mon Jul 14, 2008 8:27 am

Just a cautionary note to anyone carrying out a personal importation of aircraft or chunks of one.

I've done this a few times, I have an end user number and generally it has been straight forward. However last week I experienced 3 days of Kafka'est nonesense thanks to a truly incompetent forwarding agent.

So if you are bringing anything in which is not a straight forward company importation, do ask the shippers who their UK forwarding agent is. If they say Denholm Freight Forwarding either strongly suggest anyone else would be better or prepare to grit your teeth!

Similarly if you have done this before and had good service suggest the shipper use that agent again......
