Teleflex control cables???

Hi everybody,

I am currently changing the Teleflex control cables on my RANS S6 as they are getting stiif to operate.

On looking at the cable that connects from the lever to the bulkhead behind the P1 seat the cable is 8ft when it only needs to be 4ft.

I have read on some forums that the Jabiru uses the Teleflex cables and some owners use the CCX633 cables or silverline cables but there is very little information on the tensile strength or on what strength is required.

I have tried contacting RANS for some technical information so i can apply to the LAA for a MOD but dont seem to beable to get a response. I've also tried registering for a RANSCLAN account but cant seem to get past the 'random question'!

Does anyone have any experience in these cables or which ones i could use? if there has been a similar mod on different aircraft then it may help me with my appliction to use these cables on my RANS.

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,
Can't unfortunately help with that specific query, as I don't fly a Rans, but have you been in contact with Mike Hallam , a regular contributor on here.

Mike is the author of the excellent RansMail newsletter , which puts Rans owners [and others] all over the world into contact with each other. If he himself can't assist , then I'm sure one of his contributors probably could.

Hi Chris,

I have PM'd Mike, hopefully he will be able to give me an answer or know someone that will.

Thanks
