Brake fluids

I need to bleed the brakes on my Avid Hauler....how critical is it to use aviation grade brake fluid? I also understand it should be easier to "reverse" bleed from the caliber to the pedal master cylinder....is this an easy job?

I know nothing about the brake system on an Avid but do know you can destroy internal seals of any brake system if you use the wrong fluid.

If it's a MATCO braking system, as in our 701, the fluid is not the usual brake fluid. In fact it's a hydraulic fluid (part code Mil-H-5606) normally used in rams etc. The RAF code is OM15 but we purchased ours fluid from Transair under Aeroshell Fluid 41. Also MATCO instructions tell us to pressure bleed at the wheel caliper nipples up to the master cylinders, thus filling the master cylinders to about 1/2" from the top. Hope this helps.
