Rotax 912 ULS Oil radiator

I operate a Sport Cruiser which is powered by a Rotax 100ULS engine and have found that during the cold winter months the oil temperature struggles to achieve the desired 85-105 degrees during flight without the need to add various amounts of duck tape to the oil radiator dependant upon the envisaged outside air temperature whilst in flight.
One makes a calculated guess before flight as to the amount of radiator surface that needs to be covered in order to achieve desired oil temperature whilst in flight. Too little duck tape results in low oil temperature and too much duck tape results in high oil temperature.
I would have thought that engineers who design or put together the highly regarded Rotax engine would by now have designed something to negate the need to deploy Duck Tape or the like?
I remember my dad's old car having a driver operated radiator blind which could go up or down on the face of the radiator by simply operating a lever located inside the saloon.
