Wet mags

Post by ROB. THOMASSON » Wed Dec 14, 2016 5:23 pm

I have an Auster with BTH mags. When she was under covers the mags never got wet but I've had a couple of wet mag events since going in a hangar. Since moving up to Lincolnshire she's wetted her mags twice. A go with heat gun doesn't clear it but I am loath to take them off and bring them home again. I have 240v electrics available only at the weekend. I am planning to use a load of silica jell and wrapping the cowl with a blanket. Has anyone any experience of this and can advise?
