833 radio

Post by whitey39 » Mon Jul 31, 2017 2:35 pm

I have not been on line for quite awhile and so this topic has no doubt been raised earlier. I only have used this type of radio for a month.
I am unable to communicate on frequencies below 120.00. There is carrier wave only on transmit but I am able to receive.
My most noticeable frequency is 119.35,Norwich Approach, I have to call on tower and they then require a controller in the director's position.
Is there anything being done to solve this problem in the long term?

Is the station you are calling 8.33khz? I wonder if your radio is set to 25khz.

Not heard of anyone else with this issue, so I am not sure what you expect with the comment

Derek,

Unless you have a switch misconfigured on your radio (8.33/25 Khz selection?), it seems likely you have a radio problem.
What make and model?
