Leburg ignition
I am having trouble with the warning LED's . When power is switched on to the two systems the LED's flash on and off correctly . However when the switches are placed in the off position the LED's still glow very dimly but never less they are still on , the system is not live at this time . The wiring of system is as per supplied wiring diagram . Any have any idea's .Ripley [email protected]

Re: Leburg ignition
It sounds very like all the information I've read on the Rotax 912iS engines, if LEDs are used for the LANE lights, instead of 'normal' filaments. Apparently the LEDs require so little juice to glimmer that a few 'resident' mA can cause you to think the lights are still illuminated. The Rotax solution is to place a 1.5K resistor in parallel to the LED circuit and this will soak up all those stray wigglies and leave your LEDs glimmer-free. You'll have to research my electrical technical jargon in very specialised publications but I'm sure you get the drift

Re: Leburg ignition
Robert,
When I first installed Leburg, there was a strange minor malfunction, the details of which are now lost in the mists of time. As a so called electrical engineer, I was 100% sure that I had connected everything exactly as per the instructions but on lengthy and closer inspection (and that's not easy when you are looking at a bunch of wiring secured to the bulkhead), I found that one wire had somehow been misplaced. If you can bear to do it, I would suggest methodically tracing each wire in turn.
The LEDs might glow very briefly after switching off (mine don't) but they certainly should not glow for long. What happens to the LEDs when you open the Services contact breaker? If the LEDs are still glowing, try disconnecting the smaller Backup Battery, then re-connect it and disconnect the larger Main Battery. The results might give a clue as to what is happening.
Another option would be to use a multimeter and measure the voltages on the various connections to the Leburg units, again not an easy job but it would help to determine where there are volts when, in theory, there should be none.
Good hunting!
John.

John thanks for reply and ideas sorry late in responding . You were right after searching I found that indicator diodes were on the wrong pole of the ignition switches , now all fixed thanks . RiP
